Gardens of Stene
Offer for the drafting of a development framework with action program (fixed part) for the agricultural park 'Tuinen van Stene' in Ostend. With the agricultural park 'Gardens of Stene', the city of Ostend wants to develop a new kind of 'landscape park' and a new public culture. This innovative park of the 21st century incorporates agriculture, is a part of the Green Ribbon, and is attractive to both the people of Ostend and the many tourists, owners and users. In its design, the agricultural park seeks a synergy between classic park functions (landscape construction, nature development and management, landscape experience, recreation, water storage and use, ...), new forms of urban agriculture (laboratory of innovative agriculture, bringing city and agriculture closer together, agricultural education, ...) and a spatial and social integration in the environment.
Content vision: our ambition for this task is to increase the visibility and readability of this spatially diverse and multi-functional polder and to propose a series of actions that lead to productive frictions that strengthen the synergy between city and landscape.
