Sharing city
The GRSP [general spatial strategic plan] is a first step to prepare the ‘Spatial Policy Plan’, a long-term strategic vision to implement a coherent spatial policy at the scale of the municipality of Vilvoorde in the coming years. The plan came about through an exploratory process in dialogue with the city services, a sounding board group of experts and the 2016-2017 policy team. The city of Vilvoorde was approached from four different angles (the blue-green base, the connecting networks, the residential environments and the economic fabric) for which a number of specific objectives were formulated which were then translated into concrete policy ambitions for the various districts. Using a series of "Spatial Images" for some strategic places, a broader audience was approached to participate in the debate on the future of the city.
